Fab fab fab day and team!
The whole team are amazing, extremely caring and patient. The day from start to finish was fun and I 100% recommend! There is a large and experienced safety team and you feel safe at all times. There was a mixture in the group from people who had rafted before and no experience but it doesn’t matter. Special thanks to Ash for leading the team, Abi for being our ‘driver’ and to all the safety kayaks - Nicholas, Derrick etc

We start at the same put in point as our whitewater rafting trip - just 20min drive outside Jinja town.

After a quick safety briefing we push out to the river above the rapid ‘Jaws’ a big volume grade 2+ rapid which will get us wet and the adrenaline pumping!

Pyramid rapid (Grade 2) and the grade 1 ‘Giggitty Giggitty’ rapid are next before we float and meander our way down the river, taking our time to swim and enjoy the riverine life and the nature around us.

A 6km section of river in total we take out just above the big grade 5 rapids of ‘Overtime’ and ‘The Dutchman’.

Combine this trip with a brunch or lunch at The Haven lodge which is right next door to our end point, or we will transport you back to Jinja.

This trip will combine the logistics of our whitewater trips as a standard - which means sticking to the timings as stated on this page. If you have a large group and would like a bespoke trip please contact us and we can give you a dedicated itinerary and price. This is a perfect trip for school groups looking for a half day itinerary and can be combined with other activities such as Mountain Biking or Horse riding for an incredible adventure day in Jinja.

Float trips do not include transport - however if you want to take our Kampala shuttle and it is already running then you are welcome to use it. Enquire for more details.

What to bring:

Shorts and t-shirt to wear on the water - if you sunburn easily consider long sleeves.

Suncream - you will be out in the sun for 2 hours - sunburn is our most common injury.

A change of clothes including a hoody or jacket for the drive home.

Any personal medication.

A water bottle - we have gone plastic bottle free - you will find water available throughout the day and we have cups should you need them.

Money to pay on arrival, extras such as t-shirts can also be bought from the base.

A sense of humour. It helps make the day a whole load more fun!
