We’ve done it all - because we love it
Few others have as intimate a relationship with the Nile as the people working at Nalubale Rafting. Between us, the Jinja section has been rafted and kayaked more than a thousand times.
The Nile has played a big role in all of our lives. Most of us met our wives and girl friends here. We have had the privilege to explore its beauty and experience its greatness. We live and work on it. Because of it, we feel that our lives are full.
The Nile is not just a river, nor is nalubale just a rafting company. Both are vital components in our lives and in our life styles.
Will has been in Uganda since 2004 and joined Nalubale Rafting as General Manager in 2010. His adventure career started at the age of 8 when in 1991 he and his parents cycled across Europe from furthest westerly point in Portugal to furthest easterly point in Istanbul, a trip of 3000+ miles.
Will is an accomplished white water kayaker with experience from 3 continents and has worked as a raft guide on the Nile and on the Zambezi. He holds a IRF grade 5 raft guide/trip leader certificate, as well as a BCU level 4 kayak coach license and is trained and certified in wilderness first aid.
Although he is busy overseeing the daily operations, Will very often makes time to go on the river with our clients.
Will’s next planned adventure is kayaking on Corsica.

With 35 years of experience on African rivers, Bingo is an institution in the rafting industry.
In July 1995 when Bingo first scouted the Murchison section for the purpose of setting up a commercial rafting operation, he and his team eventually had to abandon the mission when a crocodile attack left them stranded in the park. Because of the wild life risk in Murchison, he turned his attention to the Jinja section of the Nile and ran the first commercial rafting trip at the source of the Nile at the end of December 1996. He has lived and worked in Jinja ever since.
In 2004 Bingo participated in the first complete decent of the Nile.
A keen birder and an expert angler, Bingo now runs our sister company, Feather & Fin Pursuits, which offers half and full day bird watching and fishing in Jinja.
When Thomas first visited Uganda in 1998 and went rafting for the first time in his life, he was fascinated by the experience and started planning to return for more. And so he did in 2001, when he got a job in Kampala.
Thomas co-founded nalubale rafting in 2005 and he has seen quite a lot of white water since then.
He has rafted the fabled Murchison section, rowed from Murchison Falls in Uganda to Mandari land in Southern Sudan and rafted from Jinja to Karuma Falls.
Thomas has climbed and trekked a number of peaks in Africa, including the Rwenzoris, Kilimanjaro and the Nyiragongo Volcano in Congo.
Next planned adventure for Thomas is a fishing expedition on Lake Victoria with Bingo and Feather & Fin Pursuits.
We don’t just sell rafting trips. We provide adventures that our clients and ourselves remember and cherish for many years after, if not forever.
We are proud of our river crew. Very proud. Not only are they highly competent and really experienced, they are also amongst the friendliest and most dedicated people in the industry.
